David vs. Goliath
Exhibition or not this is one of the most entertaining rounds in a long time. World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts heavyweight champ (and sometimes disputed) best pound-for-pound fighter Fedor Emelianenko tossed around WAMMA lightweight champ, grappling phenom and ex-cop Shinya Aoki during a M1 Challenge Japan event on April 29.
Check out the flying armbar the 155-pounder attempts at around the 3:35 mark. Both fighters are clearly having a good time and so’s the crowd. Too bad the UFC doesn’t get creative like this. I mean, Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg can really only fill so much airtime between bouts with their hyperbolic rambling. Who would you like to see square off Fedor/Aoki-style? How about Brock Lesnar and BJ Penn?
