“Sorry mom”

Sarah Kaufman just battered Shayna Baszler for three full five-minute rounds at tonight’s Strikeforce Challengers card. Great fight. Kaufman goes to 10-0, outboxing grappler Baszler, who surprisingly chose to stand most of the night. When she did get the takedowns Kaufman out-grappled her and was only ever in danger in the first round when she was in a north-south choke. The full five-minute rounds didn’t seem to bother Kaufman in the slightest while Baszler looked a litle gassed in the late second and much of the third (eating punches in bunches couldn’t have helped her cardio). I’ll try to find the video clip to post.
After the fight, Mauro Ranallo interviewed Baszler’s coach, John Barnett, about his upcoming Affliction fight with Fedor Emelianenko. The guy is a quote machine, saying he’d kill his mom to beat Fedor (adding “Sorry mom”), that he’ll “punch the crap” outta Fedor, that he’s no sure what weight he’ll hit the scales at for the heavyweight bout as long as he can see his abs. The more he talks, the more I like him, the more I hope he beats Fedor.
