Dan-Henderson-vs-Rich-Franklin-UFC-93

The vacancy opposite Rich Franklin on Sept. 19’s UFC 103 card has now been filled. Word is Franklin and Dan Henderson will square off for the second time. Hendo won a somewhat controversial split decision in their first encounter at UFC 93 in January.

All that needs to be settled is what weight they’ll fight at. Franklin beat Wanderlei Silva by unanimous decision in a 195-pound catchweight bout at UFC 99 while Henderon just KO’ed Michael Bisping in a middleweight matchup at UFC 100.

While Franklin has been hungry for the rematch since the first fight went against him, Henderson made it clear after the Bisping fight that he wants another shot at middleweight champ Anderson Silva, who beat him at UFC 82 via rear-naked choke. That fight will have to wait, however, as Silva is moving up to 205 pounds to face Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 on Aug. 8. Got that? Good.

Here’s how the UFC 103 card stacks up:

Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin
Junior Dos Santos vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
Martin Kampmann vs. Mike Swick
Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg
Hermes Franca vs. Tyson Griffin
Sean Sherk vs. Gleison Tibau*
Efrain Escudero vs. Cole Miller
Tomasz Drwal vs. Drew McFedries*
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Matt Wiman*

* unconfirmed
