Wanderlei gets a nose job
Scott Wallace over at ScottOnTheNet commented on my post about Wanderlei Silva’s plastic surgery, pointing me to a GracieMag story that says Silva had an operation two weeks ago on his septum: “The procedure will help Wanderlei breathe better,” explained Silva’s physical conditioning coach, Rafael Alejarra. “It will improve not just his quality as an athlete but also his daily life. It’s a region that has been badly punished and was recuperated for him to perform better.”
I’d speculated that he was having scar tissue removed from above his eyes. Never would’ve suspected a septum-related breathing problem. Isn’t he the fighter who wears a scuba mask when he does his cardio workouts? And septum surgery still wouldn’t explain what’s going on with his eyebrows. Maybe the procedure came with a free waxing.
