Andre Dida puts Shogun through his paces

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto Machida both held open workouts today in Los Angeles prior to their light heavyweight title fight at UFC 104 on Saturday. Basically, it’s an opportunity for the media to snap a few photos of the fighters and ask a few questions. I ordinarily wouldn’t bother posting much about this except that the guy holding the pads for Shogun is none other than Andre “Dida” Amado, the K-1 Hero’s and DREAM veteran and Shogun’s Muay Thai coach, who also happens to be an instructor along with his brother, Mauricio Veio, at Toronto BJJ where I train. I guess you can tell who I’m pulling for in the fight.
