Jacare and Melvin Manhoef bolster Strikeforce roster
Strikeforce keeps taking steps in the right direction. First, they picked up Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, the only five-time open weight Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, who will make his U.S. debut at December 19’s Strikeforce: Evolution against middleweight Matt Lindland. A win by Jacare could put him in line for a shot at newly crowned champ Jake Shields.
Second, Strikeforce has signed K-1 kickboxer, DREAM fighter and knockout artist extraordinaire Melvin Manhoef to a multi-year deal and he could fight Robbie Lawler at Strikeforce: Evolution. Manhoef owns an impressive 23-6-1 MMA record with 22 wins by knockout or KO.
In fact, with former middleweight champ Cung Le back in the fold and headlining the December 19 event this is turning into a great card to take us into the holidays.
